Imagine your worst trading nightmare. Now raise that by a factor of 10. And then you might be scratching the surface of the Trader’s Devil Bitch.
So to the layman, what is this Devil Bitch?
Simply put, the Trader’s Devil Bitch is the ultimate in the loss in control over a trade. This can happen during particularly volatile market movement.
The market becomes a living, fire-breathing entity. It’s movement become erratic, illogical, and unpredictable. Random wild swings in price, sometimes by several points with no stops in between, are characteristics of the Devil Bitch.
When the Devil Bitch strikes, the Trader loses all control. The Trader cannot possibly react fast enough to counteract the Devil Bitch. The Trader is at her mercy.
This is a Trader’s worst fear. Trader’s must be in control at all times. Cool, calm, and collected, a successful Trader is in complete command. And when that control is lost, so is the Trader’s ever-crucial confidence (and their risk capital account).
This type of devastating movement can occur at any time, and without warning. But typically, it surrounds specific events that affect the markets. All Traders should make themselves very aware of these specific events.
There are ways to protect yourself against the insane movement of the Trader’s Devil Bitch. If you know what sets her off, you can actually find ways to take advantage of her.
But unfortunately, most Traders don’t really understand the Trader’s Devil Bitch, and so they get decimated by her on a regular basis.
